Fox Hill Primary has adopted Sheffield’s policy for admissions and applications for places will be made in accordance with the ‘Coordinated Admission Arrangements’ which forms part of the Local Authority’s (LA) published admission arrangements. We have a PAN (published admissions number) of 45 children per year group.

Admissions – Nursery (3 and 4 year olds)
Our Nursery is a 39 place setting that offers 3 hour sessions in the morning and 2.5 days at either the beginning or end of the week. Pupils can access 15 hours under the FEL (Free Early Learning) funding. We also offer 30 hour provision for eligible families. Admissions are handled through our Main Office. Attendance
We place great importance on good attendance and punctuality here at Fox Hill Primary as we know that a child’s attendance has a direct impact on their learning. Those children who are regularly absent from school and regularly late do not achieve their potential and do fall behind in class, therefore we celebrate good attendance in a wide variety of ways and offer class and individual prizes for good attendance at school.
- Your child should attend school every day and on time.
You should contact the school on each and every day of an absence. - You should make every effort to get your child to school even if they are feeling unwell. The school will always contact you if the child’s health deteriorates.
- Make sure the school have the correct contact details especially if there is an emergency.
- Don’t be offended if the school contact you. It is for the safety and welfare of your child.
- If you do have issues that prevent your child from attending, discuss these issues as soon as possible with the school. Do not leave it. Contact the school and ask for an appointment to talk about the problems.
- If your child has any health issues please make sure the school are aware and if appropriate make arrangements to supply the school with for example, asthma pumps and Epipen’s etc.
- You should not take your child out of school for a holiday during term time. If you feel you need to take leave during term time you must put your request to the Head teacher in writing. Each request is considered on an individual basis. If the leave you requested is refused and you go ahead with the holiday the school may request a fine is issued by way of a Penalty Notice.
- There is no doubt that attendance and achievement go hand in hand. Your child’s attendance is their future. Should your child’s unauthorised absence remain high, after all possible intervention, legal proceedings will be considered.
The Education Act 1996 states:
“If any child of compulsory school age, who is a registered pupil at a school, fails to attend regularly, the parents of the child shall be guilty of an offence.”

School Uniform
At Fox Hill Primary we promote an atmosphere that encourages effort, enjoyment, and a celebration of the achievements of all our pupils. We promote this through our whole school vision:
The high standards we promote are also reflected in the pride we take in our school uniform and the feeling of belonging it creates. It is our policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school or when participating in a school organised event outside of normal school hours, except in Nursery where parents may choose if children wear the uniform. The uniform is part of our school ethos and in coming to Fox Hill Primary, parents and carers agree to support our policy.
